Freddie Mercury ( 皇后乐队Queen的主唱 ) 曾经说过，着名的西班牙女高音歌唱家Montserrat Caballe拥有世界上最美丽的女声，而自己一直希望有朝一日能和这位歌唱家一起同台献艺。1987年的时候，Freddie的愿望终于成为现实，Montserrat Caballe接受了他的邀请，愿意与他一起录制一张专辑。于是，在1988年的时候，由Freddie Mercury和Mike Moran共同创作的专辑<Barcelona>终于制作完成并在全球范围内发行。

不同于Freddie的第一张Solo，这张专辑充满了歌剧摇滚的元素。现代流行音乐与古典歌剧艺术完美结合，再次让人们回忆起了<Bohemian Rhapsody>的那种感觉。而早于专辑发行的单曲<Barcelona> ( 1987年发行 ) 更是成为了1992年西班牙巴塞罗那奥运会的会歌，并排在汉城奥运会会歌之后，成为最优秀的奥运会歌评选第二名。而令人无限遗憾的是，Freddie最终还是没能站上奥运开幕式的舞台，在1991年11月24日去世了。

Freddie's second solo album with Montserrat Caballe Released in 1988 on LP, CD and cassette. Most LP issues had a gatefold sleeve and a printed innersleeve, but some countries had a non gatefolded sleeve.
Re-issued in 1992 on LP, cassette and CD with a different sleeve.
Russia had a 1992 LP re-issue with a unique cover (which is different than the normal 1992 issue).
