The band displays a renewed sound on Storm, which consists of familiar and new elements. The album has piano accompaniment during the entire album, at the expense of the electro effects of the last albums. Yet for some reason the album doesn’t sound ‘symphonic’, probably because of the poppy atmosphere, in which there is not much room for the piano or synthesizer as a leading instrument. Another significant change is the inauguration of female vocalist Nell, whom is known from the gothic metal act The Crest. She can be regarded as a dignified successor of Liv Kristine. Nell has quite a clear voice and she sounds rather poppy, as her voice is somewhat distorted, which results in an unnatural and smooth sound.
