“街舞”是一种大众化的集“舞蹈艺术”、“体育健身”、“休闲娱乐”为一体的时尚运动。也是一种独特的美国艺术形式。它起源于美国，是美国经济和文化发展的产物。
　　具体地说, “街舞”出现在二十世纪七十年代早期。“街舞”（hip hop或street funk）经过考证，专业人士将它定位于爵士舞的一种，爵士舞在经历了三四十年代的摇滚狂舞，五六十年代的摇摆舞，七十年代的迪斯科舞，八十年代的太空舞后，如今“街舞”就是它最受欢迎的代表形式。
　　“街舞”一般由5个部分组成，舞蹈、敲击、DJ、胡乱的涂写以及流行的服饰和发型。“街舞”发展最有影响的代表人物詹姆斯?布朗，以及他1969年创造的“让脚步动起来”是“街舞”发展的起点，随着他精力充沛，以及他近乎特技一般的舞蹈动作，许多人开始跟着“让脚步动起来”的这首歌翩翩起舞，舞步时而下蹲时而旋转。事实上美国一些七十年代军事题材的电影非常流行的添上了“街舞”的动作。

霹雳舞，也是一种难度较高的舞步，大体上可以分为两种类型：用手、头、身体在地上旋转，称为大地板；用肢体在地上踩出复杂变化的脚步动作，加上刁钻的倒立，称为小地板。当然，跳舞的同时也可以随意去搭配你所想表现的动作

One Legged Swipes - A break dance floor movement known for its aerial twisting of the body. In this video you will be taught both, the one legged swipes and the double legged swipes.
Six Step Shuffle - This is the basic floor movement utilized in break dancing known for its quick steps. This is the primary basis from where most break dancing maneuvers begin.
The Windmill - One of the most popular and dynamic movements in break dancing. This video will teach you this impressive movement as well as popping, glide, up rock and many more.
The Hand Spin - A break dance floor movement that combines balance and technique, this video teaches you in detail how to learn balance on your wrist as well as correct body movement.
