《牛津英语大词典》 通常简称为OED，是一部公认的权威历史性英语语文词典。第一任主编詹姆斯.默雷（James A.H.Murray）是著名的语言学家，所以又称“默雷词典”（Murray’s Dictionary），原书名是《新英语词典》（年代顺序版）（New English Dictionary on Historical Principle）,故又称NED，NED是在1858年由英国语文学会组织筹备编写，1884-1928年出版。《牛津英语大辞典》（12卷）自1928年出版发行以来是世界公认的有史以来最伟大的英文辞典，赢得了“辞典中的圣经”的美誉。

《牛津英语大词典》目前最新版本为20卷本第二版，收词超过50万条，引证例句250万条，全部发音使用国际音标标注，词条及例句涵盖了所有英语国家的地方英语，包括北美、南非、澳大利亚、新西兰和加勒比等等，并且给出了词源分析以及不同地方英语的拼写差异。
该词典特点：几乎囊括了1150年以来见于文献的所有语词。如乔叟、高沃尔和莎士比亚等著名作家只是用过一次的罕见词，OED也如数照收，卷帙浩繁，编写原则谨严，全书浑然一体，是一部追溯词源，查考历史词汇，具有极高学术价值和实用价值的语文词典。
OED2 CD-ROM版包括了OED 20卷本第二版的全部内容，使用界面友好，具有强大的搜索功能，可用简单及高级两种模式进行搜索。

下载文件是2CD的打包文件，使用时请解压后用虚拟光驱载入。

The Oxford English Dictionary is the accepted authority on the evolution of the English language over the last millennium. It is an unsurpassed guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words, both present and past. It traces the usage of words through 2.5 million quotations from a wide range of international English language sources, from classic literature and specialist periodicals to film scripts and cookery books.

The OED covers words from across the English-speaking world, from North America to South Africa, from Australia and New Zealand to the Caribbean. It also offers the best in etymological analysis and in listing of variant spellings, and it shows pronunciation using the International Phonetic Alphabet.

As the OED is a historical dictionary, its entry structure is very different from that of a dictionary of current English, in which only present-day senses are covered, and in which the most common meanings or senses are described first. For each word in the OED, the various groupings of senses are dealt with in chronological order according to the quotation evidence, i.e. the senses with the earliest quotations appear first, and the senses which have developed more recently appear further down the entry. In a complex entry with many strands, the development over time can be seen in a structure with several 'branches'.

牛津英语大词典OED的彻底使用成功
Oxford English Dictionary 2nd Edition Version 3.0

1.用daemon等虚拟光驱载入映像【instalacion.iso和cddedatos.iso】进行安装；

2.将【OED官方v3.0补丁】的文件覆盖【C:\Program Files\OED\OED CD v3\Bin】文件夹内的对应文件（此步可选，不覆盖也可成功）；

3.将cddedatos.iso拷贝入硬盘，做永久验证使用映像（没办法，只有浪费硬盘空间，谁叫这是英英词典的爷爷级呢）；
4.重新启动电脑，用daemon等虚拟光驱载入映像【cddedatos.iso】，点击词典图标，进行认证，进入词典；

5.有时电脑系统时间乱了（变为安装时间之前或之后），不能认证时，请重启电脑，就又可以通过认证了；（记住重启很重更要）

6.有时因为各种原因，点击词典图标没有反应时，请重启电脑，就又可以有反应，并能通过认证了。（记住重启很重更要）

Oxford English Dictionary 2nd Edition Version 3.0

This DOES work, but you need to go through a few steps to get around the CD authentication. I found these instructions elsewhere - but I'll re post them here:

- Burn/Mount with whatever software you use (I used PowerISO)

- Do a FULL install

- Extract "oedfix_full.zip" from the update folder on your burned/mounted CD to "c:\program files\oed\oed cd v3\bin" (or wherever you've installed the OED) - replace all the existing files

- Extract "Safedisc2Cleaner.zip" to the same folder as above

- Run "Safedisc2Cleaner.exe" and use it to 'unwrap' "SCRfrsh.exe". This will create a new file named "SD2cleaned.exe"

- Rename the original "SCRfrsh.exe" to "SCRfrsh.bak"

- Then rename "SD2cleaned.exe" to "SCRfrsh.exe"

That's it.

按16楼的方法安装，可以使用该词典，但每次打开词典后，就不要将它关闭，把它最小化就行了。如果打开后，又关闭了，此时就无法再次打开词典了。解决的办法是，重启电脑再。点击开始菜单栏内的图标就又可打开词典了。这办法只是有点麻烦。一点心得与同好共享，希望大家都能用上这本词典，衷心感谢上传本资料的朋友！敬礼！

按照15楼的意见，我已经successfully通过认证了。可是我却没有办法搜索单词，老是提示说要插入cd，我用虚拟光驱载入也没有用，不知道为什么？请朋友们帮忙。

不知可否能通过官方升级补丁升级至3.1.1版，这样Vista也许就可以使用了，不过从外国一个网站上看到的是1.14版的在Vista下有很多安装成功的。

今天在xp下，第一次安装成功。
具体步骤：
This download gives you two .daa files (CD1 and CD2): you will need to mount both of these images with PowerISO.

IMPORTANT #1: Burning the first OED backup image 'OED2E3_A.daa' to CD will produce a corrupted disc, as its copyright protection (SafeDisc
v2.4.011) information was lost.

IMPORTANT #2: You will need to remount the second .daa image
('OED2E3_B.daa') as requested (it will ask you once per month).

How To Install:
1. Mount images with PowerISO
2. Follow installation prompts, use a "Full" installation
3. Reboot
4. Make sure second .daa ('OED2E3_B.daa') is mounted
5. Run and exit Oxford English Dictionary
6. Unmount all images
7. Done


IF YOU NEED TO REINSTALL, MAKE SURE...
· The C-Dilla License Management System is uninstalled
· The OED itself is uninstalled
· The OED folder (e.g. '\Program Files\OED\') is _fully_ wiped
· The hidden folder 'C_DILLA' (usually 'C:\C_DILLA') is also
_fully_ wiped
· You do a full file search for '*dilla*' and wipe appropriately

重点说明几点：
1.不要刻盘安装，用虚拟光驱就可以了。
2.安装前要删了C盘下'C:\C_DILLA'这个文件，这个文件是隐藏的，所以要在工具——文件夹选项——查看——隐藏文件和文件夹中选定“显示所有文件和文件夹”
另外我安装时把防火墙、防病毒软件全都关了
3.最重要一点：这个软件似乎和防病毒软件过不去（我用的是ESET NOD32），每次在打开防病毒软件的文件实时保护程序的情况下运行OED不是出现许可证破坏、就是要你插入光盘，有时干脆来个严重警告。当你禁用了防病毒软件，OED又可正常使用。
就这些了。

成功下载并成功安装。有了这个家伙，就好比有了原子弹，从此学英语就有了靠山。感谢楼主。
但运行不太顺利，经常报错退出。
极其强烈建议专业人士将其改造为灵格斯格式词典或巴比伦格式词典，使之更好地为全世界人民服务。

说说我成功的经验，不用刻碟的哦（好在我买的是可擦洗的。。。）。
按照7楼的说法，执行到重新启动电脑后，用虚拟光驱只载入“cddedatos.img”。双击桌面上的图标，在跳出的窗口下方单击“finish”，接着跳出让你往物理光驱放碟的提示，不管它，点击“继续”。验证成功（complete）！以后不用虚拟光驱也可以使用！搜词的时候选择主页面右上角的“search”.

按照7楼的说法，执行到重新启动电脑后，用虚拟光驱只载入“cddedatos.img”。双击桌面上的图标，在跳出的窗口下方单击“finish”，接着跳出让你往物理光驱放碟的提示，不管它，点击“继续”。验证成功（complete）！以后不用虚拟光驱也可以使用！搜词的时候选择主页面右上角的“search”.



就是这样用的 ，高人！！！！！

已安装成功，非常强大。
有时用学习字典查字时，总是查不到，还以为是单词拼写出错了呢，现在查莎氏的词都没问题了。
我对楼主的敬仰有如黄河之水滔滔不绝，连续不断，一发不可收拾！

非常感谢各位热心多能网友的指点，我终于将闻名遐迩的《牛津大词典》安装成功了！
但是，现在面临的问题是，当需要进行查询，点击“search”后，界面上有如下提示，我实在不知道该如何处置：

OED CD-ROM Warning

Unable to read the CD-ROM. Ensure the data CD is in the drive, and retry when the drive is ready.

重试 取消

实在不知道该如何处理，敬请网友指点。先谢过了！

接楼上，看提示，是提醒我将数据光盘插入光驱，但是在安装的时候我已经两次将下载的数据加载入虚拟光驱之中了，那么，我还该如何进行才可以象其他网友那样顺利地使用OED呢？

2、本人在英文“Black Editon”版Vista上，通过安装Virtual PC Console后安装XP，再在其中安装OEDV3，成功打开，并使用OEDV3。虽然实现了在Vista上使用OEDV3，但安装和设置均较在XP上略显麻烦。幸运的是，能够使用了。
