Corroboree is a ballet written by Australian composer John Antill(安蒂尔) in the 1940s. It was first performed as a concert suite in 1946. In July 1950 it was performed as a ballet, at the Empire Theatre in Sydney, choreographed by Rex Reid, with dancers of the Melbourne-based National Theatre Ballet.
Wildly successful and seen as a national "coming-of-age",[1] the ballet was performed again with new choreography by American-born dancer, choreographer and writer Beth Dean in 1954. Notably, Dean and her Australian husband, Victor Carell, had spent several months in remote outback Australia researching Aboriginal ceremonies, costumes and dance, upon which Dean's version was based.[2] In this first production, Dean danced the role of the Initiate herself.

Ginastera(希纳斯特拉) designated Panambí his Op. 1, but he had withheld or destroyed at least fifty earlier works in characteristically ruthless self-criticism. He reached only slightly more than fifty opus numbers at the time of his death, unlike Handel who probably could have reached fifty opera between breakfast and lunch. The ballet exemplifies one strain of Latin-American nationalism from the Twenties and Thirties: the evocation of indigenous Indian culture, as shown by such works as Chávez's Sinfonia India and piano concerto and Villa-Lôbos's Amazonas and Uirapurù. Ginastera took an authentic folk tale of love and sorcery from a regional tribe. The idiom is that of early Stravinsky, before he lost his Debussyan roots. One can trace much of the sound of the ballet to Firebird, especially in the finale, a depiction of dawn, in which Ginastera transports the last pages of Firebird to Argentina.
