"The film was a small independent release in Hong Kong and was shelved after a limited showing, never receiving an international release.

In the late 1970's, the film was poorly re-edited and amalgamated with some newer footage of Dean Shek and Yuen Siu Tien, and released on VHS in the US under the title Snake Fist Fighter. Later, DVD releases in the US and UK were given the title Master with Cracked Fingers. A new Region 2 release of the amalgamated film was due for release in July 2007, though it will revert to the title Snake Fist Fighter.

Little Tiger of Canton has recently received an international DVD release for the first time. This Region 2 DVD was released on 25th June 2007 under the title of Cub Tiger From Kwang Tung. This is the complete original film as it was released in Hong Kong in 1973, without edits and additions."

THIS IS THE RAREST JACKIE CHAN RELEASE EVER. This is a complete different movie than the 'butchered' Master With Cracked Fingers. Despite being better than MwCF, this not a great movie. But it's a must-see for fans of Jackie Chan and old school kung fu movies in general, due to its historical importance.

This is a copy from its first, and now out-of-print, release "Tiger Project", from Japan. It was since than released by Rarescope under the title "Cub Tiger from Kwantung". This movie in its uncut form was long considered to be lost forever, until the only copy in the world (located in Taiwan) turned out to be this release.

In this uncut version there are three fight scenes which are not present in MwCF. In one of these scenes we can see a very young Yuen Biao fighting. BTW, Jackie was 17 when he filmed this movie.
