一组来自阳光普照，孕育新生代庞克音乐大温床的加州，随处可见把玩青春活力的畅快乐音，但是，从小除了在庞克乐的薰陶下，一如70-80年代的金属/摇滚乐，更是填塞年少轻狂搞团玩乐的无优自在时期，Avenged Sevenfold就是受到Pantera、Megadeth、Metallica、Slayer、Iron Maiden等前辈的影响，追寻早期摇滚乐精神，注入更为飙悍的金属力道！由M.Shadows(主唱)、Zacky Vengeance (吉他手)、Synyster Gates (主奏吉他手)、The Reverend (鼓手)与Johnny Christ (贝斯手)五人还是高中生，于1999年组织起Avenged Sevenfold，他们将狂噪金属之声加入流畅庞克音阶，不时出现长篇幅的乐曲弹奏，更是加强团员间技巧的再升级，不似时下年轻摇滚乐团，完全追求短暂、猛飙的快感，更为稳健的默契培养与弹奏深度，都是Avenged Sevenfold甚为注重的环节！2001年在独立场推出首张专辑“Sounding The Seventh Trumpet”大受地下摇滚界的欢迎，2003年再次发行的“Waking The Fallen”，却再也无法掩饰他们精采的超实力表现，顺利入主华纳音乐集团的怀抱，让他们音乐事业跨出国际性的一大步！

2005年在主流厂发行的首张大碟“City Of Evil”，已被深具公信力的金属杂志Kerrang！奉上满分高评，并标示‘自枪与玫瑰之后最具危险性的摇滚乐团…’之赞誉；AP也对此张专辑公开表示 ‘2005年最受企盼的摇滚优盘’；金属朝圣者必读之Metal Hammer也毫不吝啬的替Avenged Sevenfold作背书道‘他们相当大胆、金黄耀眼、性感并且装载着金属/摇滚时期的盛况，大摇大摆的再现Aerosmith、Motley Crue、Bon Jovi盛事！’开场曲”Beast And The Harlot”，就在高速吉他飙奏下展开序幕，一连串的密集鼓点与双吉他交相共振下，带进金属的狂妄音感，不太像Gun ‘N’ Roses、Aerosmith、Motley Crue或是Bon Jovi，反倒有着Dream Theater般的错觉感；再至”Burn It Down”，火力全开的堆迭激爆出速度与吉他Solo穿绕其中；旋律性依旧的”Sidewinder”，热血奔腾的金属气焰飙至中后段，反呈现令人耳朵一开佛朗明哥式的吉他清爽伴奏；9分多钟长篇幅编曲的”Strength Of The World”，加入弦乐的辅佐，提升磅礴气势，更显宽远辽阔的编曲架构，让Avenged Sevenfold不凡实力能够完全施展延伸！

我个人更喜欢Bat Country，MIA和Betrayed也不错。
