Miles Davis Quintet是大师在1955年组建的一支五重奏乐队，本张专辑是'First Great Quintet'时期的作品。Miles Davis演奏小号，五人乐队最原始的其他四人分别是John Coltrane-次中音萨克斯风，Red Garland-钢琴，Paul Chambers-倍低音提琴和Philly Joe Jones-鼓。1955到1956两年间，第一组Miles Davis Quintet共发行了5张专辑，Steamin' with the Miles Davis Quintet是最后一张，也是我个人最喜欢的一张。With这个系列还有Relaxin' with the Miles Davis Quintet，Cookin' with the Miles Davis Quintet和Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet。
除了大家耳熟能详的When I Fall in Love，专辑中的其它五首作品也各有各的精彩。听听Kind of Blue之前的Miles Davis绝对是一个颇为轻松的享受。
