Comic Relief did a sketch starring Rowan Atkinson last night that makes fun of Spider-Man. 'Spider-Plant-Man' was a two-part comedy sketch that is a comedy version of the Spider-Man movies. Young, dorky Peter Piper gets bitten by a radioactive Spider Plant and has amazing powers! He then saves his love; Jane Mary from muggers and meets his arch-nemesis: Batman! Yes, an out-of-work Batman kidnaps Jane Mary and keeps her hostage on Tower Bridge. (It's set in London.) Spider-Plant-Man goes to save her, but gets beaten. When he's about to fall, Robin comes along and asks for a contract for mechandise. Spider-Plant-Man offers him a better contract offer and Robin pushes Batman off the bridge. And at the end…Spider-Plant-Man and Jane Mary kiss and go off on holiday together!

Fans of British humor pay attention. This short is a must see for you! This little short mainly of course spoofs "Spider-Man" and "Spider-Man 2" with lots of typical priceless British humor and with some good well known British comedians in it.

I never can really look at Rowan Atkinson and not think about him as Mr. Bean or Blackadder but in this short he was really good and he made me believe he was Peter Piper aka Spider-Plant Man. The movie is filled with many more well known British comedians in small parts such as Mackenzie Crook, Simon Pegg and Tony Robinson who are all very enjoyable in their roles, no matter how small.

This little short features some highly good laugh-out-loud moments and is highly enjoyable to watch. Of course you must be able to appreciate British humor in order to find this short funny and enjoyable but then again, who doesn't love British humor?

It's silly, over-the-top and totally ridicules...I love it!

Plot Summary:
Spider-Plant Man is a parody of Spider-Man that was made for the Comic Relief 2005 appeal. It features Rowan Atkinson as Peter Piper/Spider-Plant Man and Rachel Stevens as his love-interest Jane-Mary. Jim Broadbent also made an appearance, portraying Batman.

Peter Piper is a photographer who visits a laboratory, where scientists have created a spider-plant, which has teeth. Peter tries to take a close picture, and is bitten on his bottom by a plant who comes down from the ceiling. He sweats a lot and turns green. His molecules are changing. This means something nasty is happening...
