动画片《钟楼怪人》，英文原名是the hunchback of notre dame，1996年6月21日在美国上映，片长约90分钟。这是迪士尼的第34部经典动画，改编自法国文豪雨果的名著《巴黎圣母院》（台湾惯译为《钟楼怪人》）。这部由雨果所创作的世界名著已有七次搬上银幕的记录，本次迪士尼以动画重新诠释，尽管更动了许多情节甚至结局，但也深刻地表现出关怀不幸、克服自卑的寓意。在背景部分迪士尼动画家也亲赴巴黎取景，而迪士尼电脑动画部门高超的技巧在本片中发挥得淋漓尽致，创作出几场数万人大场面万头攒动的盛况，令人叹为观止。配乐部分alan menken采用一组１５０人的欧洲唱诗班，塑造出磅礡激昂的气势，颇有音乐剧的味道。
