'Manifest' is the successor of 'Satanogenesis' and marks a bit of a breach in style by Semargl. 'Manifest' is definitely less speed oriented and sounds more eerie because the synths are less pronounced and it sounds less polished. The songs contain more dissonant riffs now and have complete breakdowns and weird electronic interludes. Many riffs resemble modern Mayhem and others lean towards a Satyricon style.
But it has to be said that often a very brooding atmosphere is created. As a whole does 'Manifest' sound like a death metal infused version of an unlikely crossbreeding of Mayhem's 'Ordo Ad Chao' and Satyricon's 'Volcano'. Sometimes rocking and sometimes lingering and dangerous. A bit weird but nice. However, the CD, with its 71 minutes, is quite a long journey. So, it's exclusively for the seasoned misanthrope.
