Sting
King Of Pain、Wrapped Around Your Finger及Synchronicity，也是相当不错的曲子。
"Synchronicity" is perhaps one of the most perfect albums ever made. The steady drumming of Stewart Copeland, the innovative string work of Andy Summers, and the bass and concise vocals of Sting gel on a truly watershed album. The Police were already an established presence on the music scene when this album was released in 1983, having scored hits with Zenyatta Mondatta's "Don't Stand So Close Too Me" and "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da Da" and then Ghost in the Machine's "Spirits In The Material World" and "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic". The Police broke big with "Synchronicity", reaching new heights of popularity and playing to ever larger crowds. They deserved the attention, for every track on the album is strong.
The now classic "Every Breath You Take", which has been used so often as a declaration of love between young couples, is actually the disturbing monologue of a stalker. I always get a kick out that, how such a creepy song is set to such a beautiful melody and so many people mistake it for a love song. Then there is the intensity of "Synchronicity II" with its references to harried suburban life and the Loch Ness monster. The main riff on this one just fills me with a sense of looming dread. I really like the desperation of "Mother" in which a man is tormented by his over caring mother, so much so that he can't form a working relationship with a woman because they just end up becoming his mother, and she is mentally devouring him.
"Wrapped Around Your Finger" was a successful single about a teacher who underestimates his student and finds that he has become the servant and the student the master. I love irony and the foolishness of pride. Pretty good. Then there is "Murder By Numbers" which starts off sounding like a primer to help one along the path to professional murderer, but ends up being a political statement. I like it anyway.
"Synchronicity" is a wonderful album and is filled with tracks that address every mood one may have. Buy it. Trade for it. Get a friend to burn it for you. Just get it and put it on the shelf. Now.
