新作将保留“魔法门之英雄无敌”系列一贯的回合制策略类游戏风格，其实原本定义的“魔法门”系列属于RPG类游戏，而“魔法门之英雄无敌”属于回合制策略类游戏，两者之间的界限比较模糊，因此，在新作中除了延续以往的游戏模式外，也会融入RPG元素，也正是因为两种不同类型风格的结合，才让这款经典系列得以火爆至今。在新作中，玩家将重返熟悉的魔幻大陆－“埃拉西亚大陆”，剧本的设定也将秉承此系列惯有的传统，更增加了许多新的情节，让你在一个全新的环境下探索魔幻世界。这款游戏的新特色建立在为成就英雄的传奇，提供了引人入胜的故事情节，各种各样不同的派别，还有基于游戏剧情的交互式战斗模式等等，在游戏过程中，玩家被允许有更为深入的冒险体验，以及作战战略的运用，也可自行单独移动和行动。
多种族的设定也是游戏必不可少的一个组成部分，在《英雄无敌4》中种族的设定做了全新的架构，在5代中，由于目前官方并未透露游戏的细节，因此对于种族的确切数量不得而知，但在《英雄无敌4》中，种族的数量出乎意料不升反降，只有6个之多，在5代里面不知是否延续有序类魔法的Academy、残暴邪恶的Necropolis、使用生命魔法的Haven、擅长黑暗混沌类魔法的Asylum、以生物和自然类魔法为基础的Preserve和类似于兽族，但拥有强力生物的Stronghold六个种族，亦或作出一定的调整，不过种族减少所带来的转变和好处，大家是有目共睹的，种族减少更凸现了种族的鲜明性和其独有的特色，且各个种族之间的均衡性得到了强化，这也是游戏制作者根据玩家的反馈信息作出了重新调整和划分，相信在《英雄无敌5》中种族的平衡性会得到更好的制衡，各个种族不但拥有强力的生物和魔法，还能制造更多威力强劲的武器和药水等。
游戏战斗中的领导角色“英雄”，在新作中英雄的技能也会得到提升，攻击、防御、法力、伤害力等技能值都会得到加强，而在4代中RPG化的英雄培养系统，在新作中能否得以保留，一切都将等到游戏上市方可知晓，但可以确定的是，4代中的优秀之处必将在新作中延续，就像不同职业的英雄也会有不同的初始技能和发展方向，在以后的等级提升过程中，亦可根据自身的需要选择高级职业进行转职。4代中最大的变化是英雄可以身先士卒的战斗，而不再象过去几代那样仅仅是充当指挥官的角色，即然英雄做可如此大的调整，攻防中心也就将会得到转换，这一天翻地覆的改进，对于笔者而言，是比较认可的，因此，在此笔者做一个大胆的臆测，这一转变在新作中会得以保留。英雄战斗角色的改变，随之带来的影响是巨大的，这不仅仅限于战术战略的改变，对于战局走势的变化也会有一定的影响，英雄战败，队伍却依然存在，继续战斗，失去的仅是英雄自身所有的附加能力，也就是说队伍没有了英雄魔法的辅助，尽管队伍战斗力骤降，但游戏战局重心的偏移也随之转变－“保护英雄”，虽然一个队伍中可出现多个英雄，专攻英雄还是其他的战略战术的选择，都将使游戏战斗更加的多元化，也让游戏的可玩性得到大幅的提高。
要让“英雄无敌”系列长久不衰，每一代新的作品必将有全新的元素加入，这样才能让广大玩家细细品位。为了更好的让新作魔法奇幻画面更加绚丽、人物更加立体化、视觉感官更具冲击力，游戏将采用全新的3D图形，无论是游戏场景的设置、战斗画面的真实，以及施放魔法所独有的光影效果都会有相当不错的表现。此外，新作除了单人模式外，还支持网络游戏模式。

游戏没问题，很经典，原来一直没时间玩，最近下载下来玩一下，实测通过，使用这里提供的ISO文件安装游戏，另外还需要一些补丁：

下载其中的 Heroes of Might and Magic V NORMAL-2-COLLECTORS EDITION PATCH & CHEATS 这个补丁。
依次安装以下更新补丁：
欧版1.40补丁：http://patches.ubi.com/heroes_might_magic_5/heroes_might_magic_5_1.04_eu_collectors.exe

以上更新补丁要依次安装，1.6无需免cd，直接运行就可以~
