Wygląda na to, że burze, które przetaczały się nad Ministry - już przeszły. Przedostatni studyjny album formacji Ala Jourgensena, "Dark Side Of The Spoon", ukazał się w 1999 roku. Potem Ministerstwo miało się pokazać na Ozzfeście, ale w efekcie do tego nie doszło. Następnie kapela zmieniła wytwórnię, mnożono obietnice, a fani coraz bardziej niecierpliwie wyglądali nowego materiału.
W międzyczasie na rynek trafiły płyta "Greatest Fits", z najlepszymi utworami Ministry oraz nagrania koncertowe, zatytułowane "Sphinctour". Jednak dopiero w 2001 roku, kiedy panowie Paul Baker i Jourgensen pracowali dla Stevena Spielberga przy filmie "A.I.", odkryli, że wciąż mają sporo ciekawych pomysłów. Zamknęli się więc w studiu na pustyni w pobliżu El Paso w Teksasie i w ciągu zaledwie czterech miesięcy przygotowali album ""Animositisomina". Jest to pierwsze wydawnictwo Ministry dla wytwórni Sanctuary Records.

"Animositisomina" - zwierza się Jourgenson. - To słowo "animosity" ("animozja" - red.) czytane od przodu i od tyłu, tyle, że bez "y". To jak podwójna nienawiść...

I rzeczywiście, Al, który w październiku tego roku będzie obchodził swoje 45 urodziny, nagrał album porównywalny z najsłynniejszą płytą Ministry - "Psalm 69". Zespół obiecał zresztą, że będzie to "najszybszy i najcięższy" album od czasu tego wydanego w 1992 roku krążka - a to chyba najlepsza rekomendacja dla nowego dzieła tej formacji.

Na album trafił m.in. utwór "The Light Pours Out", czyli cover grupy Magazine.
Promocji najnowszego krążka będzie towarzyszyć światowa trasa koncertowa.

Before the existence of all the Nine Inch Nails and Static-Xs in the world, Chicago-based Ministry paved the corrosive path of industrial metal what has now nearly become part of the golden mainstream super-highway. Taking back what they started, Ministry has returned with a new lease on life through their new record label in Sanctuary Records and album, Animositisomina.

Driven behind the longtime team of Al Jourgensen and Paul Barker, Ministry has long been associated with the underground scene in various genres ranging from dance to alternative rock to industrial metal. But it’s the latter of the three that has advanced Ministry to pioneering heroes of a genre that has become one of today’s most cathartic forms of release and expression through music. Those familiar with Ministry, in particular with the juggernaut known as Psalm 69, are well aware of Ministry’s monster sound of toxic guitar riffs on top of a drum rampage repeatedly hammering into your skull for maximum effect. You are also familiar with the band’s sense of keeping the lyrics somewhat of a mystery masked with distortion and other effects to mesh the vocals into the music so that more effort is focused toward the energy and intensity of such nut-crunching and blistering songs like the album opener “Animosity,” the bellowing electricity of “Unsung,” or the technological aural teasing intro of “Impossible,” which leads into a sonic spectacle and clocks in at well over 7 minutes. Believe it or not, this time Ministry has actually printed the lyrics for the music on the CD jacket, which they normally don’t do. One of the songs Ministry fans may immediately recognize is the cover of Magazine’s “The Light Pours Out of Me,” which the band has been playing live in some shows going as far back as 1988.

Ministry’s raw musical blitzkriegs on Animositisomina are still just as potent and deadly for a band that’s been around for nearly a quarter of a century. The Ministry tracks I really enjoy are usually the one’s that finds the band on the mark with a salivating groove that sucks you in without warning, like on “Piss.” On the other end of the spectrum is the closing track, “Leper,” which is an instrumental journey lasting just over the 9-minute mark and definitely the Omega to Animositisomina’s Alpha, or the Ying to its Yang if you will.

Ministry don’t having any plans of going away, nor will they go away quietly and are now turning the tables on those who have carried the torch for the past few years in industrial metal and setting the bar. For those who know nothing of Ministry, but enjoy Nine Inch Nails and others…well, come meet your maker.

Aucun groupe au monde ne sonne comme eux, quand Al Jourgensen déclare que la différence entre MINISTRY et d'autres groupes s'exprime par le fait que leurs concerts sont "Sold Out" avant qu'ils aient commencé une tournée, cela n'a rien de prétentieux, c'est comme ça.
