首先，PowerDVD 8仍将分为Standard标准版、Deluxe豪华版、Ultra至尊版三大版本，功能各不相同：

标准版售价50-60美元，功能比较简单，不支持蓝光和AVCHD、H.264、DivX-Pro、DVD-Audio等媒体的播放，也不支持Dolby Digital HD、DTS环绕(需扩展包)、DTS HD等音效，Dolby数字环绕最高5.1声道。

豪华版售价99美元，增加了对H.264、DivX-Pro、DVD-Audio的支持，Dolby数字环绕也升级到7.1声道，并默认支持DTS环绕。

Ultra版当然就是全功能版本了，各种影音格式全部支持，而且也是唯一支持HD DVD的。另外三个版本均支持影片收集和剪辑两种新功能。

PowerDVD 8不但支持显卡硬件加速播放高清内容，还支持多种交互标准，包括HDi、BD-J、BD 1.1等，让PC用户也能享受到高清播放器的便捷。新出炉的BD 2.0也会在未来加入。

另外值得注意的是，PowerDVD 8终于能支持双字幕了，这也是很多非英语系用户迫切期待的特性，尤其适合那些喜欢中英双字幕的。

断点续播功能此前我们已经提过了，而且PowerDVD 8进行了增强，不但可以技术上次停止播放的位置，还能在重启程序后给出多种选择，以及暂定点的缩略图。

除了增加功能，CyberLink还彻底改造了PowerDVD 8的用户界面，布局发生了很大变化，整体风格类似于Windows Media Player 11，也借鉴了Windows媒体中心的一些特点

PowerDVD 8的另一项重大变化就是会整合新的“MoovieLive”软件和网站，从而加入社交领域的争夺。如果你愿意，可以让软件从亚马逊上下载电影封面、帮助你分门别类进行整理、记住何时播放了什么电影、撰写电影评论、对影片进行评级、查阅他人的观后感，总之就是分享一切相关信息。

用于Facebook网站的MoovieLive插件可能会在第四季度推出。

当然我们不能忘了“Movie Remixs”。它可以让用户对影片进行重新剪辑、增加更多字幕、甚至加入自己的录音旁白，而且操作非常简单，只需拖拽即可。由于并非进行复杂的视频转换操作，因此不需要大量的磁盘空间和超强的处理器显卡。制作完成后，用户还可以将其上传到MoovieLive数据库，和全球用户分享。

考虑到版权保护问题，这些电影剪辑并不是可以随便观看的，用户必须有相应的高清光盘，因此那些下载Remux或Rip视频的用户就无缘了。

最后是一个不太好的消息，那就是对无损音频的完善支持还要等到升级版PowerDVD 8.5，预计8-9月份发布。当然，这是一次免费升级。
