作为一个科幻探险剧，本片的情节上并无让人过分意外之处。然而对地心世界的想像则是喜欢科幻作品的人们值得欣赏的地方。虽然从严格的科学角度讲，句中的很多情节不尽合理，像处于地心深处还有空气，温度也适合人类生存。而且在失重的地方石头都飘浮着但人却是有重量的。这些都不符合在初中学的物理......然而作为一部科幻电影，其中的想像很有意思。三人在地心世界碰到的生物居然都是地表在远古曾经出现过的生物，难道这些在地表消失的生物（例如恐龙）真地潜入地下生活了？有点不可思议。
总体来说影片归属于08年的热盼影片还是很值得的。
