《Volume 1: Sound Magic》在1996年发售的时候，Afro Celts 就诠释了其“世界大融合”的特性。它融合了传统的凯尔特音乐及非洲音乐风格，成为了史上最畅销最受好评的专辑之一。此专辑的灵感来源广泛，包括 Peter Gabriel 的自由音乐试验、Jamie Reed 的迷幻非凯尔特艺术作品封面及制作人 Simon Emmerson 制作《Baaba Maal》时和凯尔特音乐家的合作。
