根据真人真事加盐加醋改编，一个美国青年因携带毒品到士耳其被判囚，在狱中受尽不人道对待，在他即将出狱时又无理地改判终身监禁，因此决定逃狱。影片拍得极尽煽情之能事，加上佐治奥.莫鲁达的音乐，更能激动观众的感官反应。
