Daisies is one part morality tale, one part slapstick comedy, and one part social criticism, long banned by censors. Unapologetic in its willingness to be subversive and relentlessly nihilistic with an inevitably violent ending, Daisies stands out among Czech New Wave films for its sheer originality, effusive energy and angry feminist tone.
